Father Accused of Child Abuse: "I'm the Indiana Jones of Spirituality"

Fairfield california couple accused of child abuse

The Fairfield father of 10 who has been accused of torturing his children spoke out in a rambling interview with KTVU on Tuesday. Jonathan Allen denied the allegations against him, saying he was a peaceful man who was the "Indiana Jones of spirituality."

"I love my children with all my heart," Allen said during the emotional and rambling twenty-minute interview held at Solano County Jail on Tuesday. "I am not 100 percent perfect. No one is perfect. But I am not an animal. I am not a torturer and am not a monster."

"I am the most loving parent that I can possibly be," Allen sad. "I'm like Indiana Jones when it comes to spirituality. I dig deep."

Allen has been charged with seven counts of torture and nine counts of felony child abuse by the Solano County District Attorney's Office. His wife, Ina Rogers, is also set to be charged with nine felony counts of child abuse, who was also arrested for child neglect.

The he believed that his children were being "manipulated" by "brainwashed" police.

Officials with Solano County say the nine of the 10 children were abused by Allen following interviews with the children, who described incidents of abuse that resulted in wounds like punctures, burns, bruising and injuries consistent with being shot by a BB or pellet gun.

The children were removed from Allen and Rogers' care on March 31st by Solano County Child Welfare Services and are currently living with relatives.

Allen and his wife have also been accused of failing to provide a safe living condition for their children. A video shot inside Allen and Rogers' home showed spoiled food, as well as human and animal feces strewn across the floor of the family's home. Some areas of the home were inaccessible thanks to the amount of debris found.

Authorities say there is evidence that there has been a long and continuous history of abuse in the home. Allen's bail has been set at more than $5 million and is scheduled to appear in court on May 24th.
