Leaked Video Shows Violent Fight Between Two Republic Airways Employees

A disturbing video that was leaked online appears to show two Republic Airways employees get into a violent fight while the plane was parked at a jetway at Denver International Airport on Sept. 14.

The video, posted by the website, FlyerTalk, begins with the male pilot walking up to his female colleague, appearing to spit on her. The woman then slaps the man and the pilot lunges forward, hitting her several times in the stomach and face several times.

Both employees were terminated, the airline said in a statement.

"We are aware of a situation that occurred last month involving two of our employees," a spokesperson for the airline told ABC News. "We investigated this matter and took appropriate action consistent with our belief that such behavior is unacceptable."

There were no passengers on the aircraft at the time, the airline added.

The two individuals seen on the video were identified as William Thomas, 36, and Marisha Sporer, 29, who had been involved in a relationship. However, things soured between the two after Sporer discovered something on Thomas' cellphone that she didn't like.

According to the police report, Sporer told police she'd asked Thomas to use his phone when she discovered something on his phone.

"They both agreed to break up so Thomas went onto the plane and sat in the cock-pit and Sporer went to the gate," according to a probable cause affidavit. "Sporer became angry and went onto the plane to confront Thomas. Sporer grabbed Thomas by the neck tie and slapped him in the face with an open hand three times. Thomas retaliated by grabbing Sporer and striking her in the ribs with a closed fist."

Investigators say both were injured in the fight with one another, but neither one was taken to the hospital. Both individuals were booked into the Denver Police Department on Sept. 13 and charged with assault and disturbing the peace. Both have been released on bond.

Court records obtained by NBC News show both Sporer and Thomas pleaded 'not guilty' at their arraignment hearing earlier this month. They're due back in court next week.
