A new team has been organized by Michigan Governor Rick Snyder to investigate funeral homes across the state in the wake of human remains being discovered in Detroit. Snyder released a statement saying the group will hold funeral homes to the highest standards to protect the public's health and safety. Members of the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, the License and Regulatory Affairs department, the Michigan State Police and the Department of Environmental Quality will make up the new team. The remains of bodies left the Cantrell Funeral Home in Detroit were found in April while infant remains and fetuses were discovered in ceiling compartment at the now-closed facility in October.
