Man Riding BART Arrested After Attempting To Use Chainsaws On Train

A woman in Oakland, California caught video of a man attempting to use chainsaws... In the middle of a busy BART train!

Posted on Twitter earlier this week, you can see the man try to use a chainsaw, before opening a new box and pulling out a second one to 'play' with too. Thankfully, the man never actually activated the chainsaws.

In the video, you can also hear him say "This is so you don't cut off your freakin' head," as he moves the chainsaw up and down in the air.

The BART quickly responded to the video, tweeting: "We've never seen anything like this before."

And by 5 p.m. the same day, BART confirmed that they had "multiple calls and officers quickly positioned themselves to board the train at Lake Merritt when the man actually got off. There was no waiting to respond, they acted within minutes."

According to BART officials, 47-year-old San Fransisco resident Patrick Bingman was arrested for criminal threats and other outstanding arrest warrants, and was booked into Alameda County Jail. Police reported no injuries from the chainsaws.

"We want to thank our riders for quickly reporting the unusual incident and our officers who quickly responded," BART later said in a statement.
