Judge Extends Deadline for Reuniting Immigrant Families

A federal judge has gone ahead and agreed to extend Tuesday's deadline for the government to reunite 102 migrant children under the age of 5 who were separated from their parents under this administration's "zero tolerance" policy.

The DOJ expects 54 out of 102 children will be reunited with their parents tomorrow and will deliver a proposed timeline for reuniting the remaining children with their parents to the judge.

The government had requested a deadline extension until this Friday.

Do you think the courts were ever going to mandate that tomorrow be the absolute final day for these families to be reunited? Is it more important to meet artificial deadlines or to make sure these families are reunited?
